Later today, Walsall Football Club will play host to Crawley Town in the latest Sky Bet League 1 clash of the season. Ahead of kick-off Saddlers manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website, and has discussed his side's weekend win over Fleetwood Town.

Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "It was great to see us make a deserved return to winning ways at the weekend following another game in which we found ourselves on top for long periods.

"We may not have created as many clear-cut chances as we have done in previous matches, but credit for this must go to our visitors who came with a plan and got men behind the ball to do well defensively.

"It meant that we had to find a way to combat this, and in the end we worked extremely hard to get the three points.

"To see us dominate once more against a team with play-off aspirations was extremely encouraging and it was great to see the ball finally hit the back of the net from Tom Bradshaw.

"We had to be patient, but having Tom back in action is a real boost and he is always going to pose a threat to the opposition.

"It was also another clean sheet for us as we looked solid at the back once again to make it three clean sheets in a row, which is fantastic at any level.

"It gives us an excellent foundation on which to build and there were many positives to take from the game into tonight’s encounter with a Crawley Town side who also need the points to move away from danger in the lower reaches of the table.

"I would like to thank our supporters for the backing that they gave to the players at the weekend. Your support is vital at this stage of the season and more of the same is required tonight."
