PAPER TALK: The Table Doesn't Lie

Walsall Football Club top-scorer Tom Bradshaw has spoken to the local press ahead of this evening's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Crawley Town, and has discussed the Saddlers' season so far, and has insisted that Walsall is a team that shouldn't be near the foot of the table.

Speaking to the Walsall Advertiser, Tom said; "I think some of the football we have played this year isn't deserving of being in a relegation fight but, ultimately, although it is a cliché, the table doesn't lie.

"Wherever you finish at the end of the season, that's how well you have done. The teams below you have done worse and the teams above you have done better.

"We are very aware of that and we don't want to be a team that just plays good football and doesn't get any points.

"We want to be a team that plays good football and knows how to grind out results as well. And I think that's what we did on Saturday – we've played some good football but we've obviously won the game as well.

"We said coming into these two games if we could pick up all six points that obviously it relieves all pressure and we can start to relax and play our football again.

"We want to get as many points and finish as high up the table as we can, just for personal pride if anything.

"We're a team that shouldn't be down there so we want to get as many points as possible to finish as high up the table as possible to try to do justice to the way we play – and for the gaffer, for the coaches and ourselves."
