Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Chesterfield, and has dismissed suggestions that Saddlers defender James O'Connor walked out of Smith's post Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final debrief.
Speaking to the Walsall Advertiser, Smith said; "Jim was fine and he's been to see me today because there were reports that he stormed out. There's nothing in that whatsoever.
"He was disappointed and angry when I told him on the Saturday night and I would expect him to be.
"But Jim's the consummate professional and he was brilliant before the game, during the game and after the game as well."
