Walsall Football Club's Assistant, and Reserves manager Richard O'Kelly has spoken to the club's official website following the Saddlers' Reserves draw with Port Vale Reserves, and has praised his side for their dogged performance in conditions that are best described as horrendous.

Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Richard said; "The conditions are best described as horrendous. There were high winds, hail and driving rain, but credit to both teams as they gave it a real go. We were a little disjointed in the first half, but were dogged and battled away.

"There was a real improvement in our play after the break and we deservedly took the lead following a well-worked team goal which Amadou finished with aplomb on 54 minutes as he latched onto a fine cross from Jamie Smith.

"We continued to do well with and without the ball and created a number of opportunities before Vale equalised with a scrappy goal and that's how the scoreline remained."
