Banbury Guardian, Network Rail has confirmed that the railway between Leamington Spa and Banbury will reopen on Friday 13th March - three weeks earlier than originally expected.
The key route, which will serve as one of the ways Walsall supporters can get to Wembley for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final on Sunday, 22nd Match, has been closed since January 31st following a 350,000 tonne landslip near Harbury, which lies between Banbury and Leamington.
The line was expected to remain closed until Easter but Network Rail has confirmed that passenger services will resume on Friday, March 13th - with overnight freight services potentially using the line again from as early as Monday.
