Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website following Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 victory over Doncaster Rovers, and has praised his side for their hard work and endeavour under much Rovers pressure.
Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; “The lads put in plenty of hard work today. We had to defend a lot of balls into the box and whilst some of our play was a little loose at times, we broke at pace and scored two good goals.
“To come away and get another clean sheet is also very pleasing. This is a difficult place to come to, but we ran out worthy winners in the end.
“It’s important now that we get back into winning ways at home; the performances have been good but we have to turn them into points.
“There is plenty of good competition for places now, and that can only help us. We’ve got a lot of games coming up in a short space of time and it’s a real chance for us to get into a run of results.”
