Walsall Football Club summer signing Jordan Murphy has spoken to the club's official website about making his first-team debut during last weekend's Sky Bet League 1 defeat to Port Vale, and has revealed that it was a 'big relief' to finally cross that line.
Speaking to Saddlers.co.uk, Jordan said; “It was a big relief when the Gaffer told me that I was going on. I’ve been close to getting on before, but I felt that I had something to give to the game and was excited to get on and show what I could do.
“I felt that I gave a good account of myself. Of course, there are always areas that need improvement, and I’ve been through some of the clips today.
“It was a difficult game to come into; we needed to stretch the play but we were on the front-foot whilst I was on and finished strongly.
“We were just unlucky not to get anything out of the game in the end."
