Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Doncaster Rovers, and has offered a brief update on the fitness of midfielder, Sam Mantom.

Speaking to the Walsall Advertiser, Smith said; “Sam’s jogging. He’s been on the treadmill so hopefully he’ll be back soon and I think he’s counting down to try to get on the bench at Wembley."

Smith continued; “He’ll have that number in his head – 40-odd days until the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final or whatever it is at the moment.”
