Earlier today Walsall Football Club's Youth side took on Port Vale in the latest Football League Youth Alliance (North West) fixture of the season.

The Saddlers went into the game, which was played at Ray Hall Lane in Great Barr, in sixth position having won ten of their seventeen league matches, whilst Port Vale, who were eleventh, had won seven of their sixteen league ties.

Walsall emerged victorious in today's encounter by one-goal-to-nil, a Lewis Probert goal late into the game proving enough to secure all three points for the young Saddlers.

Walsall's next league tie is away to Tranmere Rovers on Saturday, 31st January.
