Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press ahead of Wednesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Area Final First Leg clash with Preston North End, and has offered a brief update on the injury status of James Chambers, who limped off during last weekend's Sky Bet League 1 defeat to Coventry City.
Speaking to the Express & Star, Smith said; “One of their lads had jumped on James’s toe and it was sore so he had to come off.
“We’ll have to look at him today, and hopefully he’ll be all right for the game on Wednesday.”
