SMITH EXPECTS HENRY TO HEAR INTERNATIONAL CALL

Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Sheffield United, and has backed young left-back Rico Henry to receive an international call-up in the not too distant future.

Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Sheffield United, and has backed young left-back Rico Henry to receive an international call-up in the not too distant future.

Speaking to the Express & Star, Smith said; “If there is a better left-back currently playing at England under-17 level, I would be surprised. For such a young lad he has been very impressive, he is such a talented kid.

“If he carries on and keeps up this form then I’m sure he will catch the attention of the national coaches at youth level.”
