Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website following Wednesday evening's Johnstone's Paint Trophy Area Quarter Final victory over Sheffield United, and has praised his side for their good, solid performance.
Speaking to saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "I'm really pleased. It was a deserved win for us and another good performance.
"I felt that defensively we did really well, with Paul Downing and James Chambers solid, whilst Adam Chambers was excellent in the middle of the park.
"This is an opportunity for us to win a cup competition; we've had two ties so far in this and come through them both, so we shouldn't fear anyone. That said, there are some good sides left in the competition.
"We created some decent chances out there and I was pleased with the goal that won it for us."
