Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website following Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League One victory over Fleetwood Town, and told of his delight at his side's solid away-from-home performance.
Speaking to saddlers.co.uk, Dean said; “The performance was terrific. We were in control for 80 minutes and then defended well when they threw the kitchen sink at us towards the end.
“We worked the ball really well from side-to-side and were fantastic in possession.
“The players’ application and understanding was superb. I thought that Rom took his goal really well, whilst our two full-backs were excellent all afternoon.
“We were so organised and gave them problems throughout; they were unbeaten at home for a long time, so to come here and get the three points is excellent.
“It was a deserved win for us and I am really pleased.”
