Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the press as he continues to prepare for this weekend's Sky Bet League One clash with Coventry City, and has backed striker Ashley Grimes to end his long-standing goal drought.
Speaking to the Express & Star, Smith said; “He has looked really sharp in training, he has worked really hard, he has wanted to get back and he has showed a hunger to get back.
“I felt I had to make a couple of changes for the game at Fleetwood, Grimesy came in and acquitted himself really well. For me he has been unfortunate at times this season, he has come into a team and has been wanting to get a goal.
“Now he has been on a winning team and that will do him a lot of good.”
