Walsall Football Club have this afternoon announced the creation of several job vacancies at Banks's Stadium, including positions in matchday hospitality and weekday functions.
In a statement released via saddlers.co.uk, the club confirm; "Fresh from being nominated for a whole host of football hospitality awards, Walsall Football Club is looking to build on its success in the kitchen by taking on new Chefs and kitchen staff.
Head Chef, Richard Varley, is looking to recruit Chefs to work with him on MatchDays, evening and weekend functions and at Christmas and New Years’ Eve.
Needing at least two years experience in a busy catering kitchen and NVQ 2 qualified, the posts offer a fantastic chance to be part of a dynamic catering team.
Richard said; “We have just been nominated for Best Matchday Hospitality in the prestigious Football Business Awards alongside Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur. This nomination demonstrates the high standards of our catering provision here at Walsall Football Club.
"A Chef working alongside my team would receive an excellent grounding and a real opportunity to be part of what we are creating here. We are looking for dynamic, smart and talented chefs able to deal with every situation, culture and taste. I would also like to hear from potential kitchen porters and general kitchen staff.”
Also looking to recruit staff for her department at the club is Conference and Events Manager, Vicki Chambers.
Vicki told saddlers.co.uk; “Having recently taken on 38 part-time staff this Summer as part of the Hospitality team, we are looking to further develop the team by recruiting an extra 30 silver service waiting staff and can provide some in-house training for experienced people. Banks’s Stadium have so many Christmas parties, events and matches in the run up to Christmas and New Year that we really need to strengthen our team.”
These latest job opportunities come after the club recruited for almost 60 part-time and seasonal bar & waiting staff during the Summer to help as the Stadium grows to become one of the biggest Conference and Events venues in the West Midlands.
