Earlier this evening Walsall Football Club made the short trip to Coles Lane to take on Sutton Coldfield Town in the First Round of this season's Birmingham Senior Challenge Cup.

Sadly the Saddlers were unable to overcome their opponents, and were defeated 5-3 by the Royals in an entertaining evening affair.

Ashley Robinson and Jordan Nadat opened the scoring for the home side during the opening forty-five minutes.

During the second half, striker Nadat was able to add a second, whilst Jamie Sheldon and Simon Brown completed the scoring for the Northern Premier League outfit.

Winger Kieron Morris (2) and striker Romario Reid notched the Saddlers goals, Reid scoring his second goal in four days, having netted during the Youth Alliance defeat to Oldham Athletic Youth, on Saturday afternoon.

F/T: Sutton Coldfield Town 5 (Robinson, Nadat (2), Sheldon, Brown) WALSALL 3 (Morris (2), R.Reid)
