Walsall Football Club first-team manager Dean Smith has spoken to the clubs' official website ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League One clash with bottom-of-the-table Crewe Alexandra, and has discussed his hope that his side can continue their good home form.

Speaking to saddlers.co.uk, Dean said; "Looking back at last weekend's game at Oldham Athletic, I felt that we started and finished well but there were disappointing parts of our play and in fairness, too many players were out of sorts.

"We've studied the game and now we look forward to Saturday's encounter with Crewe Alexandra.

"Steve Davis has done a very good job there and they are a club very similar to ourselves in that they bring young lads through the ranks and attempt to play the right way.

"They are not far from being a good team in this League and obviously go into the game boosted by their victory over Coventry City last weekend.

"The table is very tight at the moment and with three games coming up over the next week, there are plenty of points up for grabs.

"Our recent home performances have been impressive; we've played some good football and given the fans what they want to see. Hopefully we can continue this at the weekend and get the result that we all crave."
