Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League One clash with Chesterfield, and has expressed his delight at the recent return of 2013/14 Player of the Season, Sam Mantom, who had been out since the summer, with a knee injury.
Speaking to
saddlers.co.uk, Dean said; "To have Sam available for selection again is a big boost for us. He's had a few set-backs along the way, but we've taken a softly-softly approach with him recently and now we are delighted to see him back in action.
"He is a big player to have back. The good thing is that he did most of the pre-season work, so his fitness levels are not a problem, he just needs games to get his match sharpness back, but that will come."
