Walsall Football Club attacker Romaine Sawyers is once again representing St Kitts and Nevis during the second stage of qualifying for the 2014 CONCACAF Caribbean Cup, which will be held later this year in Montego Bay.

On Wednesday evening Romaines' St Kitts side were defeated by 3-2 Barbados in the opening match of Group 8.

However the 'Suga Boyz' were able to regain at least some momentum in the group by defeating French Guiana, who had opened their spell with a 2-2 draw 'away' to current stage hosts; Haiti.

St Kitts opened the scoring thanks to a goal from Antigua Barracuda midfielder Orlando Mitchum, after around 25 minutes of the first half.

Just before the hour mark Saint Kitts & Nevis went down to ten men as Leicester City's Harrison Panayiotou received a straight red card, in what was a hard tackling affair at the Stade Sylvio Cator, in Port-au-Prince.

French Guiana equalised after 70 minutes thanks to a goal from Trélissac striker Gabriel Pigrée, a goal which appeared to switch the match in Guiana's favour.

However Richmond Kickers striker Tishan Hanley put St Kitts back in the lead a short time later, with a goal which was enough to secure all three points for the 'Suga Boyz', and that could ultimately see French Guiana crash out of the competition.

F/T: French Guiana 1 (G.Pigree 70') St Kitts & Nevis 2 (Mitchum 25', Hanley 77')

St Kitts & Nevis now go on to play against Haiti the evening of 12th October, whilst French Guiana take on Barbados earlier in the same day.
