Walsall manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet League One match with Doncaster Rovers, and has offered another injury update, along with discussing his belief in his players, and backroom staff.

Speaking to saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "There is some encouraging news on the injury front as we prepare for a return to home soil at the weekend with the visit of Doncaster Rovers.

"I am expecting James Chambers and Tom Bradshaw to be available for selection again, whilst Ben Purkiss came through 45 minutes of Wednesday's reserve team game and Jordan Cook is back in full training with an eye to getting back into action himself for the reserves during the week ahead.

"Only Sam Mantom is still working with Jon Whitney now, so the injury situation is starting to look a whole lot better now.

"We are only too aware that we need to find that consistent level of performance, but as long as we are putting the performances in and working hard, the results will follow.

"The harder you work, the easier the game gets.

"I have an extremely supportive network of people and staff at the club and together we are doing all that we can to move things forward.

"The backing of our supporters is also key and I would like to thank you for the excellent backing that you have given to the team so far this season - long may it continue."
