Walsall Football Club first-team manager Dean Smith has today provided an update on the injury status of summer signing Jordan Cook, who suffered a 'tiny' hairline fracture to his ankle during the clubs pre-season friendly against Torquay United.
Speaking to the Express & Star, Smith said “Cookie went to see the specialist and there is no lasting damage to any ligaments. It was just a high sprain with a slight crack. He will have another X-ray at the end of the week and we will see if the calcification has taken place and hopefully he won’t be out for as long as first thought.”
