Earlier this morning Walsall Football Club confirmed the news that summer signing Jordan Cook has suffered a 'tiny' hairline fracture to the ankle, an injury which he picked up earlier in the summer versus Torquay United.
In a statement, released via saddlers.co.uk, the club confirmed; "The Saddlers are likely to be without summer signing, Jordan Cook, for ‘five or six weeks’.
The former loanee suffered an ankle injury during our recent game at Torquay and a scan has revealed a tiny fracture."
Manager Dean Smith added; “Thankfully the ligaments are intact. There’s a tiny fracture and it’s a case of waiting for that and the sprain to heal.
“It’s likely to keep him out for five or six weeks which, although disappointing, is not as bad as first feared.”
