GRIGG COMPLETES MK DONS LOAN SWITCH

Milton Keynes Dons have today completed the loan signing of former Walsall Football Club striker Will Grigg from newly promoted Sky Bet Championship side, Brentford.

Grigg links up with the Dons following a year-long race for his signature, the deal is not believed to include any future sale agreement, and is not yet known whether Walsall will continue to receive appearance payments as outlined in the original transfer agreement.

Grigg first came to prominence when making his debut for Walsall as a raw teenager in 2008. He went on to play 109 times for the West Midlands outfit and finished the 2012/13 campaigns as top-scorer for the Saddlers with 20 goals.

That form prompted Brentford to part with money for his services and persuaded Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill to call him up to the full national squad last year. Grigg currently has five senior caps to his name.

As part of Grigg's initial transfer, as well as the £325,000 fee, Walsall are due £30,000 for every 20 competitive first-team games played up to a maximum of 100 games.

The Bees also paid £50,000 when promotion to The Championship was achieved and could pay-out a further £250,000 if promotion to the Premier League is secured.

Along with a 20% sell on clause if and when Will is transferred from to another club.
