Walsall Football Club defender James Chambers, who penned a new one-year deal earlier this week has spoken of his delight at his new contract and his desire to get the new season underway.Speaking to saddlers.co.uk, James, who jetted off on holiday on Wednesday, said: “I'm very pleased to have signed this new deal. I’m happy with the way that the team and I have been playing and I am also happy with the people that I work with here.
“It’s a good environment to be in and I can't wait for the new season to get underway.
“I've been following the summer maintenance programme, so I feel good and ready to hit the ground running when pre-season training starts.
“Before that I have a bit of a holiday to recharge the batteries, but I am already looking forward to what the new season holds in store for us.
“We've got a good nucleus of players already here and if we can build on that and add to what we’ve got, there is every reason to be optimistic.
“The Gaffer knows what he wants and has various irons in the fire, so this is an exciting time for everyone associated with the club."
