Walsall Football Club are today being linked with a move for Bristol Rovers striker Ryan Brunt.

21-year-old, Birmingham-born Brunt, who began his career as an apprentice at Bristol City before moving to Stoke City, he missed most of the 2010–11 season after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury. He eventually penned pro-terms with the Potters in 2011.

Over the following two seasons Brunt had loan spells with Nantwich Town, Luton Town, Tranmere Rovers, and Leyton Orient, he made a total of 42 appearances for those sides before departing the Britannia Stadium in January 2013.

Ryan penned a two-year deal with then Sky Bet League Two side Bristol Rovers in that same month, he made his league debut for Rovers on 26 January 2013 against Rotherham United at the New York Stadium.

Brunt managed only 13 league and cup appearances for Rovers last season and failed to find the net before his season was ended in November by a knee problem, which eventually required surgery. The campaign eventually saw Rovers relegated to the Skrill Premier.

Leyton Orient and Chesterfield are also said to be interested in Brunt's signature.
