THE TRUST: SECOND GOLF DAY A SUCCESS

Earlier this afternoon members of the Walsall Football Supporters' Trust, the Walsall FC Former Players Association and members of the public took part in the second annual Former Players Association - Golf Day.

The fundraiser was held at former Walsall manager Tommy Coakley's Darnford Moors Golf Club.

Funds raised from the event will be used to fund the everyday running of the Former Players Association including the purchase of two season tickets for 2015/16, which will allow our former players to attend Saddlers home games without the need to ask the club for tickets.

The sun shone brightly on the 14 former Saddlers stars that teed off in the 2nd Walsall FC Former Players Golf Day at Tommy Coakley's Darnford Moors course on Wednesday.

Sadly work commitment ruled out defending champion Kenny Mower but after 18 testing holes and challenging pin placement it was Chris Nicholl, Andy Gadsby, Mark Gillespie and Bill Webber whose names will be going on the Matt Gadsby Memorial Trophy with a most impressive score.

Colin Brazier, Ally Brown, Richard O'Kelly and Paul Marston made up a strong quartet and the older Saddlers Keith Ball, Jimmy McMorran, George Meek and Ray Wiggin had varying fortunes. Graham Newton and Lol Wright also enjoyed their game in the sun.

Over £200 was raised toward match ticket on the day.
