THE MATCH PREVIEW: Vs WOLVES

This weekend Walsall play host to local rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in Sky Bet League One.

Walsall could be boosted by the return of left-back Andy Taylor who featured in a midweek reserve game at home to Morcambe. The Saddlers will however be without midfielder Sam Mantom who will serve the second game of his three match ban.

Walsall go into the game on the back of a terrible run of form, which has seen them pick up just one point in five games, including three 2-1 defeats in a row.

The Reds have not tasted victory since the 5-1 demolition of Notts County on 25th January, and have won just three of the eleven games in 2014.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, however, are undefeated in the last seven games, the 'Gold 'n' Black's' have dropped just five points and conceded two goals in 2014.

Wolves striker Leon Clarke could return for the League One leaders after three games out with a heel injury

In-terms of head-to-head statistics, Wolves hold the advantage, with six victories to the Saddlers four, there have also been five draws between the two sides.

Walsall will be keen to achieve a rare double over their opponents, having defeated them with an Andy Butler goal at Molineux in September last year. That victory was the Reds' first in over a decade, the other coming in Division One on 28th August 1999, once again at Molineux.
