Walsall Football Club winger Ashley Hemmings has joined Sky Bet League Two side Burton Albion on a loan deal up to and including the 27th April.

23-year-old Hemmings joined Wolverhampton Wanderers at the age of nine and after climbing through the clubs youth ranks, signed professional terms in 2009, he also spent time on loan at Cheltenham Town, Torquay United and Plymouth Argyle during his time at the club before being released in July 2012 after only making two appearances in a Wolves shirt.

Ashley penned a two-year contract with Walsall in just a few weeks later and has gone on to make 65 first-team appearances for the club. He scored on his Saddlers debut against Brentford with a 18-yard drive in the first round of the League Cup. His current contract is due to expire in the summer.

Hemmings goes straight into the Brewers' squad for Saturday’s League visit to York City, and he will wear squad number 12.

With Ashley Hemmings signing for Burton, fellow Saddler Matt Preston has extended his loan deal with Evo-Stik League Northern Premier Division side Barwell until the end of the season. Whilst goalkeeper Shane Lewis has been recalled from his loan with Stockport County.
