Once again Walsall Football Supporters' Trust Secretary Steve Davies joins us to share the news and views from the Trust;

As with many things at this time of year, the holidays have mean not much is happening around the Supporters Trust at the moment. Our current drive is to step up the sales pitch on our 'Walsall FC 125th Anniversary Beer'.

As mentioned in the previous column we talk to other Trusts and the beer idea was nicked from the boys at Forever Bury. They were kind enough to give me a bottle of their beer and some advice on how to go about things and away we went!

Following the success we had with our first foray into the Commemorative beer with the 'Super Jim 530' which was produced when Jimmy Walker broke the clubs appearance record, we made initial inquiries with the club earlier in the season about producing one for the 125th season but at that stage it was thought that a brew on tap was planned so nothing was done until November, when the question was asked again after it transpired that the keg beer had not been produced. Permission was kindly granted by the club to use the logo's for the bottle label and away we went.  We ordered 250 bottles which is two for every year of the Club's existence. We settled on a 5 percent IPA which is a pale ale for this brew.

Problems at the bottlers, which saw the beer arrive a week later than anticipated meant that we missed out on the chance to distribute bottles at the Alan Buckley night, plus the fixture list over Christmas was not kind to us either means that we are behind schedule with getting the bottles to the fans.

With this in mind we are holding all ordered beers until the end of January after this the reserved bottles will go on general sale so if you have ordered beer please contact me ASAP!

At the time of typing this there are still around 70 bottles available for purchase at £3.50 a bottle but we are confident that these will sell out quickly so if you want a bottle either to drink or as a collectable do not delay.
