This Saturday sees The Saddlers travel to the Colchester Community Stadium to face Colchester United in SkyBet League One.

Walsall go into the weekend on the back of a disappointing defeat to Bradford City, The Saddlers have also won just one of their last four games and currently lie 9th in League One.

The Saddlers will be without loanee Milan Lalkovic who is away on international duty, but have an otherwise fully fit squad to choose from.


Colchester lie 14th in League One with just one win in the previous nine games, the U's started the campaign with two wins but are yet to taste victory since the second Saturday of the season.


Colchester manager Joe Dunne has a rather large injury list to wade through, including; Sanchez Watt (thigh), Drey Wright (knee), Mark Cousins (foot), Josh Thompson, Tom Eastman (both ankle) and Mason Spence (hamstring).


Dunne could however have, Gavin Massey, Clinton Morrison,Tosin Olufemi and Ryan Dickson back in the squad following various injuries. Daniel Pappoe is also back in contention following a suspension.


The match officials for this weekends game are, referee Jeremy Simpson, along with linesmen Nicholas Cooper and Gary Jerden. The Fourth Official will be Robert Whitton.

In terms of head-to-head it's even-stevens between the two, with twenty-three wins apiece (fifteen draws). The Saddlers have won two of the last six encounters and will look to avenge the 2-0 defeat suffered in January.

Following last weekends result, Walsall manager Dean Smith has signed a contract extension, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2015/16 season, this is a major show of confidence, and is sure to be a boost to all at the club.from the board following a good end to last season and a promising start to this.
