The former England Under-17 international has spent the past few weeks on trial with the club and has been invited back to train with the squad this week.
Speaking to the Express & Star, Walsall manager Dean smith said; "We have not yet made a decision but I have got Shane Lewis back in, he will be training with us this week so we will have another look and see how he does. We have had a number of different goalkeepers in but I want someone who is going to push Richard and Shane has been invited back.
He continued; "We liked him when he was first here so hopefully he can impress again. If Shane impresses, he will earn himself a contract.”
