Former Walsall defender Stuart Watkiss has been handed the assistant managers job, at Blue Square Bet Premier side Stockport County.
Watkiss, who made over sixty appearances for The Saddlers joins new County manager Darije Kalezić at the club as they continue their rebuild following the unsuccessful tenure of former Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester City midfielder Dietmar Hamann.
Despite the rumours surrounding Watkiss, he was never considered a candidate for the vacant Walsall assistant managers position.
