Loan Watch: More Match Action For Walsall Duo

Walsall goalkeeper Joe Slinn, defender Dan Vann, and striker Cameron Peters are currently spending time away from Banks's Stadium in search of some all-important first-team football.
Stopper Joe Slinn is in the early stages of a season-long spell with local side Rushall Olympic, whilst academy products Vann, and Peters are enjoying short-term stays with Matlock Town, and Bromsgrove Sporting respectively.

Cameron Peters' Sporting were not in action but Joe Slinn and Dan Vann continued to earn plenty of first-team opportunities as their temporary sides were scheduled for action earlier this week.

Joe Slinn
Joe Slinn once again retained his place between the sticks as Pics gaffer Liam McDonald looked to overcome Sutton Coldfield Town to get through to the next stage of the Emirates FA Cup, following their two-all draw at the weekend.

Sadly for the Pics their FA Cup journey would come to an end at the First Qualifying Round stage as a controversial Lee Smith penalty would prove to be the difference between them and the Royals.

Rushall would go on to dominate large spells of the second-half but were ultimately unable to grab an equaliser as they crashed out of the competition in front of 236 fans at Dales Lane.

More minutes for Slinn, but another game without a clean sheet. A disappointing run for the Pics, who can't quite get all of the pieces in the right places.

Dan Vann
Dan Vann's Matlock Town, who were knocked out of the Emirates FA Cup by Halesowen Town last weekend, were back in league action as they took on Basford United on Monday evening.

The Gladiators have been in dire form over the last few weeks and Monday's match was no better as they were thumped by six-goals-to-nil in a result which ultimately saw manager Dave Hoole resign, as his side suffered five defeats in a row.

Dan Vann was named among the starters with former Saddlers striker Craig Westcarr also joining the ranks at Causeway Lane. But neither player had an impact as goals from Jack Thomas, Coury Grantham, Kole Lambert (2), Nat Watson, and Matt Thornhill saw Basford ease to victory.

More all-important minutes for Vann, but his team are in dire straits and will need to address some of their clear defensive issues if they are to turn their early-season form around.
