The Kettering-born centre-back spent a portion of last season on loan with AFC Telford United and has welcomed the chance to test himself at a higher level with the Saddlers, although he knows that he will have to work hard to earn a spot in Dean Keates' starting XI.
20-year-old Johnson has already made his club debut as he played for the majority of the recent 2-1 Checkatrade Trophy victory over Burton Albion, a match which Connor says gave him a glimpse of life outside of development football.
Speaking via the club's official website - Saddlers.co.uk - Connor said; "It is a great opportunity for me. If I can come in and get as many minutes under my belt as possible and try and bring something to the team then that’s good for me.
"It is very different coming out on loan. I have been with Wolves for about four years now so I have been in my comfort zone there because you get to know everyone and you know how it all works.
"It is good to come out and meet different people and find different ways of playing. It will be a lot different here than it is with the Under-23s. It is a test I am excited about, when I am called upon, if I am called upon.
"It is a lot more physical, even from playing in the Checkatrade Trophy game against Burton Albion. There is a lot more running, there is more demand from you as a player.
"In the 23s you can sit back and play a little bit as you can have the ball in front of you but here it is more physically demanding because you are playing against men, they’re stronger players. I have to learn how to play in different ways which will be good for me."
