Barnsley Statement: Today's Match to Go Ahead as Planned

This afternoon's opponents, Barnsley, have released a statement via their official website confirming that this afternoon's match between the Tykes and Saddlers will go ahead as planned.
The news comes after a serious incident in Barnsley town centre which saw parts of the South Yorkshire town cordoned off for much of the day, and will lead to an increased Police presence at Oakwell this afternoon.

In a statement, released via the club's official website - BarnsleyFC.co.uk - they confirm; The game will go ahead as scheduled. There will be an increased police presence at Oakwell this afternoon ahead of, during and after the Sky Bet League One match with Walsall FC.

The club has been in constant communication with South Yorkshire Police and we would like to thank them for their updates.

Supporters of both Barnsley FC and Walsall FC are asked to remain vigilant and report anything they deem suspicious. We look forward to welcoming everyone connected to both clubs.
