Walsall Sign Leicester City Striker Josh Gordon on a Three-Year Deal

Walsall have completed the permanent signing of Leicester City striker Josh Gordon, with the former Stafford Rangers forward joining the Saddlers until at least the summer of 2021.
23-year-old Gordon joined the Foxes in April 2017 following an impressive trial period, and went on to play a major role in the club's under-23s side, scoring six goals in twenty-six Premier League 2 outings, but failed to earn a place in Claude Puel's first-team plans.

News, confirmed via the club's official website - Saddlers.co.uk - states; Walsall Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of striker Josh Gordon from Leicester City on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old joined the Foxes from Stafford Rangers in April 2017 and featured regularly for their Under-23s last term, scoring six goals in 27 Premier League 2 matches. He previously spent eight years with his hometown club Stoke City before spells in non-league with Newcastle Town, Nantwich Town and Stafford, as well as in Wales with Rhyl.

Saddlers manager Dean Keates spoke to club journalists and welcomed Josh to the club, he said; "Josh is chomping at the bit to get back into men’s football. He was prolific in non-league, went into the Under-23s with Leicester and scored goals there. He had a couple of opportunities with the first team in pre-season – playing in the games against Valencia and Lille – and did really well. I’m delighted to get the deal over the line and he’ll be here for the next few years."
