Kory Roberts Stretchered Off During Pre-Season Defeat to Stoke City

Walsall were dealt a major injury blow earlier this afternoon as highly-rated defender Kory Roberts was stretchered off during the second-half of their pre-season defeat to Stoke City.
Birmingham-born Kory, pictured warming up ahead of the recent pre-season clash with Rushall Olympic, made twenty-four first-team appearances last season, entering several superb displays, and is highly thought of at the club with many seeing him as as a major prospect, thanks in-part to his determined performances and beyond-his-years maturity.

The 20-year-old defender fell awkwardly during the latter stages of the second-half of the three-nil defeat to the Potters, and was treated on the pitch by both medical teams before being taken off the field on a stretcher and replaced by Cameron Peters.

Walsall are yet to issue a statement confirming the extent of Kory's injury, which looked to be a leg injury, but we will bring you all the latest news as and when it is made available.
