Erhun Oztumer: "I Just Can't Wait to Get Started"

Following the news that he'd agreed terms on a two-year deal with Sky Bet Championship side Bolton Wanderers, Erhun Oztumer has spoken and welcomed the opportunity to test himself at a higher level.
27-year-old, Greenwich-born Oztumer, who turned down several improved contract offers after deciding to explore his options elsewhere, made ninety-five first-team appearances since joining the Saddlers on a free transfer in the summer of 2016, and was not short of suitors following two seasons which saw him score more goals than any of his various teammates.

Erhun, who was named in the PFA's Sky Bet League One Team of the Year in both of his seasons at Banks's Stadium, bagged seventeen goals from fifty first-team appearances last season, and was reportedly on the transfer radar of several clubs including Preston North End and Sunderland but opted for Bolton after positive conversations with manager Phil Parkinson.

Speaking via the Trotters' official website BWFC.co.uk, Erhun said; "I’m thrilled to put pen to paper and I just can’t wait to get started now. I am excited to test myself in the Sky Bet Championship with some great players and I’ll be looking to show the Bolton faithful exactly what I am capable of.

"I had a chat with the manager and I really felt as though it was the right move for me. He told me all the things that I wanted to hear and that’s why I’m here today as a Bolton Wanderers player."
