Whitney Confirms O'Connor Injury - No Timescale for His Return

Walsall have been dealt a major injury blow as they continue to build toward the 2017/18 campaign as defender James O'Connor has been ruled out with a hip injury.
Saddlers boss Jon Whitney has spoken to the local press and confirmed that veteran defender James O'Connor, who has missed both of the first-team's pre-season friendlies, is injured, and has no timescale for a return.

Jon, who was speaking via the Express & Star, confirmed that O'Connor picked up a hip injury during the early stages of pre-season, and could be out for quite a while, the 46-year-old said; "James has a hip injury and is under medical care at the moment. He did the first day and picked up a niggle. I am not sure when he will be back. I think we are a bit unclear on that one."
