Whitney Satisfied With Recent Training Session

The manager was keen to take a look at a few of the so-called fringe players as he continues to consider his options ahead of the summer break.
Walsall manager Jon Whitney has spoken to the local press and discussed last week's training session, which saw several members of the Saddlers' Under-23 and youth squads visit the club's Essington Training Ground to give the manager and his team an opportunity to assess them ahead of the summer break.

Speaking via the Express & Star, Jon said; "We had over 20 young players in each day. It was mostly our under-23s but we had a few second year scholars in as well as some of the first year scholars. It was a really good opportunity for me to have a look at some of our younger players.

"There was me, John Ward, Neil Cutler and Ian Sharps taking some of the coaching with Mark Bradley and Marc Czuczman doing some gym mark. It was really good for Mark to get to know the players. And also to start getting some work into them into the close season."
