Walsall manager Jon Whitney has spoken to club journalists ahead of this weekend's League One clash with Bolton Wanderers, and has insisted that, following a recent spell of form, his players will travel to the Macron Stadium full of confidence and hopeful of recording another positive result.

Speaking via Saddlers.co.uk, Jon said; "We have to go there believing we can beat them and I truly believe we can. They have made a lot of changes since we last met and Phil has got a team in transition. He is a really good manager who knows how to win games in this league, and he will set up his team right.

"It will be a tough test. We are not naive enough to think we can go there and just play our football - we are going to have to battle. We have to match their energy and keep the crowd quiet – and if we do that we have a chance.

"It’s probably down as a home win on most coupons but we know they are beatable. They have lost their last two home games, and we have a physiological edge having beaten them at home.

"We are not going to fear Bolton, but I don’t think we fear anyone at the moment. The way we are playing, we can cause problems and we know that if we fall behind in games we can still come back and win. It’s great when you are on a run and confidence is high. Momentum is the key and we have got that."
