Walsall Take Another Look at Manchester City's Ellis Plummer

On Tuesday afternoon, Walsall Football Club's Reserves side travelled North as they took on Wigan Athletic Reserves in the latest Final Third Development League (West) fixture of the season.

One member of the Saddlers squad was Manchester City defender Ellis Plummer, who has re-joined the club on trial, following a similar move earlier in the season.

The 21-year-old, who joined City from Stockport County in 2006, can play as a central defender or at left full-back, and has yet to make a senior appearance for City.

Since joining City, Plummer has had two loan spells; He spent a month with the Saddlers' Sky Bet League 1 rivals Oldham Athletic in 2013, where he made just four appearances, and last season he joined Scottish Premiership side St Mirren on an initial season-long loan, which was cut short after he had made seven appearances.

Ellis had a brief trial spell with the Saddlers in September 2015 but was not offered a loan move after suffering an injury, this could now change as he begins a second spell with the team.
