Walsall Head Coach Sean O'Driscoll has spoken to the local press ahead of today's Sky Bet League 1 clash with Crewe Alexandra, and has discussed Manchester City defender Ellis Plummer, who recently returned to the club for a second trial spell.
Speaking via the Express & Star, Sean said; “Ellis is somebody who has been at the club before but got injured. We invited him back because we had some good reports. He was willing to come back and play in a game so we took that opportunity and he did well.
“He is a left-sided centre-back and when you look at the balance of the squad – we are not blessed with a left-sided centre-back. He would balance the team out. But we have got to have one eye on now and one eye on the future.
“Whether we bring him in now or not, I’m not sure. Loans are difficult because everyone wants to play and at this moment we couldn’t guarantee anyone a place. That puts players off.”
