According to media reports, Manchester United have joined the race for Walsall's left-back Rico Henry, as the Birmingham-born defender continues to pique the interest of several top-flight sides.

ClubCall.com report that Louis van Gaal's side watched Walsall's Sky Bet League 1 defeat to Swindon Town on Tuesday evening as they join Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City in the race for the 18-year-old's signature.

The report suggests that Rico, who recently penned a new deal that could see him remain at Banks's Stadium until the summer of 2018, could be seen as a replacement for the currently injured Luke Shaw, who is currently recovering from a double leg fracture which he suffered in September.
