Walsall Football Club are set for a major financial boost following Sunday afternoon's Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final, which was played in-front of over 72,000 fans at Wembley Stadium.

The Saddlers will receive almost £70,000 in tournament prize money along with around £500,000 from ticket sales, which have been combined with Bristol City's total sales and split equally between the clubs, with the sponsors sharing 10%.

Club secretary Dan Mole briefly spoke to the Express & Star about the financial boost, he said;  "It's certainly been a good fundraiser for the club. A decision is yet to be made on how the money will be spent. Wembley was a wonderful occasion and we will build from this."
