Following Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League One victory over Chesterfield, Walsall manager Dean Smith spoke to members of the press, and hailed his side for their solid, positive performance.
Speaking to saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "It was nice to get the points. They are a good team who pushed us all the way, but I felt that overall we had the better chances, particularly in the first half. The lads kept plugging away and they got their reward in the end.
"I thought that Anthony Forde was outstanding when he came on; it was a well-worked goal that won it for us with some great link-up play and a nice finish from Tom Bradshaw.
"It's good to have him back from injury and to also see Sam Mantom come on during the second half is a real boost.
"We're delighted to have the points in the bag and now we will be looking to get on a positive run."
