SMITH LOOKS AHEAD TO NOTTS COUNTY CLASH

Walsall Football Club manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website, and has looked ahead to this weekend's Sky Bet League One trip to Notts County.
Walsall Football Club manager Dean Smith has spoken to the club's official website, and has looked ahead to this weekend's Sky Bet League One trip to Notts County.

Speaking to saddlers.co.uk, Smith said; "We go into Saturday's game on the back of a hard-earned victory over Chesterfield last weekend. Any win is nice to get and it was good to be able to get over the line and secure three points against Chesterfield.

"It was a competitive game in which I felt that we created the better chances and played some decent football.

"On Saturday we find ourselves up against an in-form side who are full of confidence with six wins on the spin. Shaun Derry and Greg Abbott have done a fantastic job there and deserve all the plaudits that they are currently getting.

"To be fair, our season has been stop-start so far. The injury situation has certainly not helped our cause with so many key players missing at one stage or another. It's been well-documented, but not we are looking to get some consistency.

"We've got a good group together here who want to do it for each other; they want to be successful together and know only too well that it will take determination and commitment."
