Earlier this afternoon Walsall Football Club striker Jordan Cook was stretchered off during the Saddlers' pre-season defeat to Skrill Premier side Torquay United.

During the latter stages of the first half the forward suffered an ankle injury, without contact with an opposition player, and will travel back to the Walsall area with the rest of the squad this evening (Saturday).

Cook is likely to be further assessed in the morning and is expected to undergo a scan later in the day.

Jordan has a history of cruciate knee ligament problems having missed several months of the 2009/10 season with the ailment.
